Feeding and Nutrition :: Have always fed pellets, looking to add variety?

Yeah,they would be ok in a 30 gallon rubbermaid if they are that small.But when you purchase a filter and water heater make sure the filter is rated for 2 times the size of your rubbermaid,for example 30 gallons=60 gallon filter and you might as well get a water heater rated for 60 gallons or more because turtles grow fast and you might as well get everything they need now and when they grow either save up for a bigger tank or spend another 10 bucks on a bigger rubbermaid.

ok, i just wanna make sure they dont get out, which i dont think they could

I don't have a cover on my tank during the day with the lights on. We put a cover on at night because of our cat.

Also, my turtle is about the same size as yours and she ate 2 rosey red minnows the day we got her. The fish were the same length of her shell. I can't get the super small guppies because they get eaten by my filter.
