Feeding and Nutrition :: Turtle Bites

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

I recently bought HBH Trutle Bites for my turtle. They're red and green pellets made mostly of fruits. Before I feed these too much or too often, I want to ask how much you suggest to feed.

How large or your turtles? Babies should be fed daily, and adults every other day. Around 8-10 pellets every other day for adults. Not sure on babies though...

raisins, coconut, papaya, apricot, banana, sweet potato, pineapple, apple All of the fruit in this list, should be an OCCASIONAL treat, nothing that is a staple of their diet.

I've posted about his before---a turtle keeper on another forum calls them turtle crack and gives them to her turtle as a treat. Turtles usually love them, partly because of their high oil content.

I've always been skeptical of the high sugar content and all the fillers. As an occasional part of the diet, they probably wouldn't hurt.

I've made it a treat for him. A few a week is all. When I do put them in with some pellets though, he nails them first even if they're farther away! He must like them.
