I know there is already a topic on pumpkin on here but I had a few other questions that just reading that post did not answer for me- do you put the pumpkin directly in the water or put it on the dock? I know I was told that they'll end up just dragging everything from their dock into the water anyways but initially what is best? also I need recommendations on how to prepare it- do I give what's on the inside or any part of the outside? You see, we're going pumpkin hunting tomorrow and I figured since we're gonna have one anyways we might as well try out a treat for the little one! Let me know any suggestions because I've never even prepared pumpkin for myself... so i'm completely in the dark about all of this!

my recommendation is to cut small wedges, remove the pulp and seeds, and steam it for 3-5 minutes. After you steam it, let it cool, then just put a wedge in the tank. Mine ate it sort of like a human with a wedge of canteloupe. They had little nips off the rind.
