well a couple days ago i got some fresh romaine lettuce and my turtle wont it. back then hed ALWAYS eat pellets and krill and fruits. but when i give him lettuce hell bite it,spit it out and swim away. is their any way i can make him get used to lettuce? and idk how small i should make the lettuce i usally throw in dime size lettuces!

How old is your turt? Many suggest if your turtle is over a year old, with hold pellets for a day or two, and offer only lettuce, and he/she will likely figure out that he's supposed to eat it ;)

Sometimes you have to try tough love on the turtles. Like BullDog said, give him only lettuce for a couple of days. If that doesn't work, you can try soaking it in tuna water. RES have a great sense of smell and that might attract him. If not, try another veggie. Some turtles just won't eat lettuce.

I aggree with CountryGirl68, they have a great sence of smell. Just try to feed him a different fruit or vegie.

You can try radicchio it has a "stronger" flavor to it, that might help. You just need to be patient, they'll come around eventually.
