I am afraid my turtle is starving to death. Can someone tell me how often does turtles eat? I have had my turtle going on three weeks this Sunday and I have only seen him eat twice. I have been feeding him every other day Zoo Med's Hatchling Aquatic Turtle Feed A vitamin-enriched floating pellet. Also I have put in the tank lettuce but no luck with it yet. If anyone knows another good turtle pellet or food on the market please let me know the name and I will do a search for it on ebay. I also want to make sure our turtle is eating? It is going on three weeks now like I said I haven't seen him eat much.

Do you have a UVB and heat lamp? If not, your turtle can not metabolize what he or she has already eaten, therefor he or she can't eat anything else even if he or she wants to.

I use the zoo med food and I've never had a problem with it. If your turtle is a hatchling he should be eating every day, not every other day. Are you staying to watch and see if he eats every day? You can try soaking the pellets in tuna juice, it will pick up the smell and should get his attention.
