Feeding and Nutrition :: Yellow Bellied Slider not eating feeder fish?

I have a 5 year old Yellow Bellied Slider. I gave him 3 feeder fish (rosey reds) for the first time today. He has not eaten any of them yet, he only chases them for a few seconds and then gives up.
I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing before? He has eaten other insects before, such as spiders, and loves eating different vegetables (dandelions, radicchio, etc.)

The fish might a be bit quick for him. He's probably conserving energy and waiting for the right time. Please don't give him insects although gut-loaded crickets are usually fine.
