Feeding and Nutrition :: Mealworms in Calcium Powder?

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

I've only had my RES for about 2 months and he's an 1.5in. In his tank I keep Anacharis and Amazon Swords for him to eat but I also feed him mealworms daily (canned type, not live.) I know that they have a bad cal/phos ratio so I roll them in Fluker's Calcium Powder for reptiles before feeding them to my turtle. I usually give him one about every 12 hours. I've been reading a lot of RES diets but I was wondering if putting the calcium powder is making a difference and making the mealworms suitable for him or should I just switch to a completely different food? I've been using mealworms because he eats them so easily and they're cheap/easy to buy and handle but I'd rather have a healthy turtle if this is detrimental to his health. Any thoughts/suggestions? :D

Its not something you want to use on a regular basis. He's not wanting any pellets?
