So there are no ponds around me at all no form of standing water. Yet a baby red eared slider pops up in my pool filter. He appears to be a male. He is very active seems very healthy and is about the size of a quarter. Now I already own a res named bubbles. So I am pretty good with them. So I bring this little guy in and set up a ten gal tank he is happy as ever. He calm and resting swims about for a bit then back out to rest. He's not freaking out or too lethargic ... the only problem is I can't get him to eat. I've tried everything. Side not he's been in my home 3 days now. I have tried dry shrimp, reptomini, tuna, boiled egg, chicken, heck I even tried bread... I gave him a small leaf of lettuce and he's using it as a bed. What can I do to get him to eat. I have a feeling the kid next store dumped him off cause I saw a fish tank go to the dump the day before I found him. I asked out right and was told the don't even nor have ever had a turtle of fish... so yeah. What can I do for little weevil?

It may take some time for your turtle to adjust. He's just gone through a traumatic event and might be a bit timid.

Tuna is your best bet... keep offering it. Maybe give him some privacy after you feed him.

Do you have a full setup for him? Water at proper temp, heat+UVB on a basking area etc?

I'd try a live minnow and hold it by the tail to let him grab it. You can usually get them (10 for $1) at a pet store or aquarium.
