Feeding and Nutrition :: is my turtle too fat?

im jz started now to feed my 2 inch turtle twice a day and two pellets each time.yesterday was the first day bt hes starving....gobbling up the food and even ate,the tit bit leftovers at the bottom...before that i fed him thrice a day and 3 or 4 pellets each time......hw many times should i feed,my turtle and hw,many pellets each time...im afraid my turtle is too fat...heres a pic if his bottom which to me looks fat.hes an res.[img][IMG]http://i1368.photobucket.com/albums/ag168/yumikoinichi/Mobile%20Uploads/20140115_220632_zpsh48znfl5.jpg[/img] [/img]

As a hatchling its very hard to actually make them fat as over feeding at first will just increase growth speed until that slows down then you will start seeing them get fat. Your turtle looks perfectly fine to me. Preferably you should only feed your turtles once a day and only the amount that can fit in their head if it was hollow. He wont starve. Turtles act hungry always and will learn to beg. A Turtle if you let it will gorge itself on pellets until he cant even swallow and they are coming back out lol.

okay glad to hear that...will feed him only once starting from today...thank you! my pellets are kinda big.so he will always put the whole thing into the mouth but the pellets doesnt fit,he will spit it out or bite half ....its really cute watching him eat. sometimes i will take the pellet on my thumb and forefinger and he will come and eat it from my finger.
