I saw the other post about it but am I supposed to take the back off? I always use the zoo med turtle bone for my res and he eats it just fine with no problems and I don't take the other side off.

I'd be cautious. It's sharp enough to cut the inside of the mouth.

You can buy bird cuttlebone much cheaper and its the same thing. I only remove the hard backing.
1 Male Mississippi Map/Mississippi

1 DBT Male/ Spots
(Housed in the same tank)
