Of carrots? I will try to chop them into small bits like a pellet considering the head size of my RES. He still won't eat his lettuce. I put the pellet on top of a shredded part of a lettuce floating in the water. He bit the leaf, swallowed the pellet and spit the leaf out. Smart bastard.

It is really never to young to offer veggies although, it is harder to get them to eat veggies when they are younger. Of course you want to get them eating pellets before trying food they don't want to except readily. I was lucky, Toku took to lettuce without tough love!

Oh good for Toku! I really hope that my baby eat lettuce. Even a single shred, I'll feed him anything afterwards. Even a shawarma lol kidding.

Try different kinds of lettuce. As I've said, he may be picky. have you tried red-leaf or green-leaf lettuce? Mustard greens is also an option.

I just take a grater and grate a few slices off.

It's a once or twice a month thing of variety. I have never had issues getting her interested in any food, though.

Yeah, every turtle is different and you will have to experiment with different types of veggies to see what he does and doesn't prefer. Colorful food is usually a good bet he will eat. Toku loves red leaf lettuce, once a month I throw a baby carrot in his take and he will bite at it. When it gets away he chases after it and tries again, he will spend the day trying to eat a baby carrot. By the end of the day he has orange lipstick on his beak:) Greatness, I tell you!

Try feeding your RES some peas. A majority of people who i turn on to that have great success.

Here is a video of mine enjoying them:

Gonna find mustard greens and red-leaf ones. I have green-leaf lettuce and he just ignores it. Gonna also try to dip it in canned tuna stock.
