Feeding and Nutrition :: Franklin's newest obsession

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

Ok, Franklin goes outside for 30 minutes of supervised playtime everyday, with his best friend Carrie (kitten). Franklin has this habit of eating grass during play time....is this even safe? Since he thoroughly enjoys it, can I rinse off grass and start to feed it to him? Is there even any nutritional value? Thanks in advance for helping me with Franklin's weird fetishes obsessions.

It partly depends on what you do with your lawn care. I wouldn't feed it to them though, I would guess there's a lack of nutritional quality there.

Thanks, Steve. That's what I figured but it was worth a shot. Our grass doesn't really have any fertilizer. It just kind of flourishes on its own, so should I stop Franklin whenever I see him eating it, or will he be ok?

You never know what's in that runoff water. I think the occasional mouthful is fine... mine do that too.
