I would have shrimp as a rare treat, and at smaller quantities.

May be yours turtles are adult... because, a little turtle eats ~50% of shrimps in a hole menu. And next I cook a mix shrimps, kalmars, white fish, meat, polyvitamins, carrot etc. To tell the truth, my turtles are not vegeterians  From time to time they can eat maximum just a small part of lettuce leaf.

While younger turtles are more carnivorous, it does not mean you can't give them healthier alternatives to shrimp. Small amounts of boiled white chicken meat can be good... but their staple should be a good and reputable pellet.

I can explain some more about their feeding... (the photo camera is too old :( ).
So, ingredients: shrimps bodies (~10-15 shrimps) + 1 middle carrot + 3-4 kalmar slices + a small part of white-meat fish (i.e.pike-perch).
1 white egg, 1/2 cap of milk, flour from algae. And you need in gelatin 7-10 g in this recipe.
To prepare: You need to prepare a 7-10g (may be more - read an instruction. 70-80g gelatin on 1 litre of mix) of gelatin. Carrot - boiled, covered, over low heat for 5 minutes and removed. Next bring to the boil and add the part of fish (do not add the salt.) for 20 minutes. Put through the blender together: shrimps, carrot, kalmar and fish (+chiken). Mix all and sautee stirring constantly to ~30-40°C. Add the 1 egg, 1/2 cap of milk and algae flour (polivitamins). When this mix and gelatin will be the same temperature just add gelatin into the mix - stirring again and pour into molds. Put in the freezer. It can be fresh about 3-5 days (always check it).

This is their evening food. In early morning (before I went to work) I give to them pellets of Tetra or Sera (it is faster then another kind of food). But in evening (it is 20 pm) I give to them meat, shrimps, kalmar, fish or mix. Here is their choice of free will what they`d like to eat :) They have a good appetite and it is the main thing. There is a very big difference between turtles from zoo-shop and turtles that I have bought on the street. From zoo-shop are healthy.

... Seeing that made me hungry. I don't know what that says about me, but it says a lot about your presentation. :D

Thanks a lot! :) Well! It really recalls the taste of a staffed fish.
Not every week, I suppose.
Here is Earl 4 months ago and he (or she) was a light green color since both turtles arrived into my home 4 months ago. There are my first day photos as a turtles owner. I have bought Exo terra turtle terrarium in first week because I was worred about especially the second turtle - I think her illness was a pneumonia by fungeal ethiology (she felt better and worse every day by long antibiotic therapy during 3 months - it is not typically for bacterial pneumonia).

P.S. May be, you can see (the photo with both turtles close-up) in the lower right angle of carapax on Earl (more light green turtle) is the small black spot - it is not a seam between the scutes on carapax. It is a spot rot after one week of treatment.
