Hi all,
I am a pet owner with 2 red eared sliders we've had for about 5 years. I am SICK of buying exceptionally OVERPRICED food at Petco/walmart/everywhere:

Where do serisous turtle people buy their RES food Online?

please be specific because I have spent some time searching & come up empty handed.

It can be bulk, or just a great deal.

Thank you!

If you can find a feed mill near where you live they should be able to order you Mazuri turtle food for cheaper then online if not still cant beat prices. I bought 25lbs. Also Mazuri is a top turtle food brand you cant lose. http://www.mazuri.com/search.aspx?find=Turtle

+1 for Mazuri. I feed that as well, but I ordered mine direct from the Mazuri site.

I think we or someone was going to buy and split some Mazuri. Still an option, though I've seen people do it on ebay too (the ones not in retail packaging).

Mazuri used to sell 1lb packages, now it looks Like 25# is all you can get.

If you're interested in Mazuri food, I'd grab one of those Mazuri 1# packages. The 1# size appears to be gone from the Mazuri website.

Do any of you have the occasional white specs on your mazuri? I bought 25 lbs worth of it a while ago but my turtles don't seem to like it. It is the only
turtle pellet I've ever used that seems to have leftovers the turtles will not eat once it gets soggy. It also seems a bit oily after placing it in the water. I transfered what I have into air tight jars.

The turtles also seem to defecate quickly after eating it which doesn't help the water quality. It was in the official brand packaging in a large papper sack but I'm not sure if it was past expiry date since there was no indicator on it.

I gave half of it to my cousins who have 3 turtles but they own RESs.

The best turtle food I've bought is Hakari, with the brown, green and red pellets. They make very little mess in the water and the turtles always finish all of it.
However I haven't been able to buy it in bulk at reasonable prices here in Canada.

I've used Hikari koi pellets for my RES (for the wheat germ) and you're right... they leave very little crumbs. I think I'll try some of their turtle pellets too.
