Can I use fish as the base for sliders diet


(48%protein,6%grass,3.8%fiber,calcium1.5%calcium,0.8%phosphorus)


REASON:have them with a fish and I feed it they eat the food,don't want to over feed .

Too much protien can cause issues. I would stick to pellets as the staple in your turtles diet, and constantly offer fresh veggies. While your turtle will snatch a few fish flakes here and there, I wouldn't factor it into his diet

There is hardly any more protein in those, than in Reptomin. If your turtle catches a few flakes, dont worry about it.

I only give my turtles about 5-6 pellets a day (reptomin baby formula), they're both only a few months old. At 6 months i plan to cut the pellets to every other day. I got a veggy clip (looks like a chip bag clip with a suction cup thing on it) and I stick some red leaf lettuce on it like twice a day and they nibble on it whenever they want it. Also got some ghost shrimp in the tank they chase around though from what I can see they're pretty bad at catching the shrimp. Not sure one has been eaten yet.
