There is this product hydro-life it is sold at (website deleted)and i am sure other sites it is made by t-rex. It is supposed to be a life saver for retiles with eating problems and not getting the correct nutrition. What do you think of this product? Does it work?

I agree with ellman.. I'd NEVER buy anything from that turtlesale [not reputable].com.. considering they promote the use of what we term death bowls I'd not trust anything they said or sold. Seems they are only in the turtle business to make money and could care less if who buys their turtles.

I believe I read somewhere that they were one of a few sites that did what is known as "freezer babies". If I understood correctly, the practice consists of taking newly hatched turtles and chilling them to keep them in a suspended hibernation until they can be sold. A very large majority of turtles that have been kept under these conditions never survive, which may account for the large mortality rate of hatchlings.

I got 2 at a pet store, 2 were adoptions and the other was thru a pet store, but from a breeder the pet store guy knew. I don't think online is the way to go unless it's thru a reputable breeder. I have nothing good to say about turtlesale [not reputable].com and I don't know anyone who does :-( I have also heard about the freezer babies....it's just wrong. Good luck with your remaining turtle!

joem1481, the product you asked about is for severely dehydrated/malnourished reptiles. It provides essential electrolytes along with helping to hydrate the animal. I have a bottle, but have never had to use it, so I can't comment on whether it's good or how good it is.
