Feeding and Nutrition :: What else should i feed?

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

Hello!
I just need some suggestions on what to feed my new turtle!
right now he gets 5 pellets a day (roughly the size of his head)
the pellets are not all the same size but i always feed five (even if its less or more the normal pellet size) as sort of an equalizer.
i feed him red leaf lettuce every once in a while but havent recently for no reason... i just stopped.

1 main question: if i offer cuddlebone or whatever its called (the bird stuff thats rich in calcium) do i feed it daily? do i feed plus the regular 5 pellets?

another question. how often should i give it vegetables (he has no problems eating it, he seems to love it!)

he tries to eat the gravel, but spits it out (as soon as possible im changing the gravel to large river rocks)
but i cant do that until at least the 20th depending on what i can find.

thanks in advance for the answers!

How old/big is Shelldon? See this topic for ideas: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=11684

Yes, cuttlebone is in addition to his regular diet. How much and how often should depend on the basis of his diet.

You can always keep a smaller piece or two of the cuttlebone floating in the tank so your turtle can nibble on it if he wants to. Sometimes my turtles eat it more quickly that at other times.

Schedule looks pretty good. You can even give him some vegetables on the pellet days if he eats it.

He can have more actually... For hatchlings, daily feedings of pellets equalling the amount to the size of his head is a common reference point. Honestly, less pellets is better and it sounds like he's getting a balanced diet.
