Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

I have an approximately 10 year-old RES. I was thinking of starting to feed him red wriggler worms (Eisenia fetida or Lumbricus rubellus) from my vermicompost. Is this a good idea and how much/how often should I feed him? Thanks!

I feed them earthworms (don't know the exact species) I myself breed for fishing and feeding as a treat.. I read they contain vitamins and iron and other minerals. I don't know how often you should give them though. As for how much, I give them 1 each.. usually about 2,5 inches long .

like any "meat" food i would say as a treat as well because of the high protein. probably like a once a week type thing.
