This was the only vegetable/fruit matter he/she has ever eatin! im siked! only question is he didnt eat the skin and i dont want blueberry skin sitting around dirtying my tank so can i feed it to him without the skin?

Yeah without the skin is better if he does not like the skin. Im trying to get my RES to eat blueberries but I never find any at the stores.

You can take it off, though I think the skin is supposed to be beneficial. The main thing is to keep offering it, he/she will take it.

I would offer it with the skin (try cutting the blueberry into quarters). If it's not eaten, net it out. The skin provides added fiber and most of the nutrients are found just under or in it.

My turtle only takes a bite if the berry has the skin on, but quickly loses interest.
But with the skin off, he goes crazy for them!

Its actually blueberry season, went to a festival last week. I decided to give it a try. One of them will eat them readily and actually take them from me off a toothpick. The other is a little more timid and will only eat them when I walk away from the bottom of the tank, and even then maybe one or two. Unfortunately I hear they are helpful for shedding scutes and she is the one I really want to eat them.

Oh and Ranger its a little late this year but maybe next year go to Lowes and pick up 2 blueberry plants (need 2 so the pollinate each other) and put them in the back yard.
