I got my RES to eat his cuttlebone (well kinda) to grind it up and dust my pellets but i put his pellets on his dock so they won't get all soggy and the calcium comes off. He grabs them in his mouth kinda closes his mouth then eats it underwater.

You could moisten the pellets and roll them in the calcium (or put them in a bag and shake them) to coat the pellets. Let them dry and then give them to your turtle. The calcium will stick better and some of it will be absorbed.
