Post Posted: Sun May 09, 2010 10:15 am   New Turtle owner..Important question

I have 2 Turtles..Errtle & Myrtle..They are about 2 months old and they eat anything and everything..They ate 13 Minows in 1 day, they eat Pizza, salami, chicken cutlets, grapes,Goldfish tails, cheese, basically any lunch meat,KFC,Taco bell, any fruit, any fish, worms, rice, cereal, Ive been feeding them whatever i eat all month and they're lovin it...I was wondering whats the worst case scenario for spoiling my turtles? I feed them about 10x a day

Im lost..i dont know understand..i have to follow a strict diet or their shell is going to be softer than the average turtle? Is that it? but considering their going to spend their whole lives in a glass tank, whats it matter if their fat and have soft shells, I think spoiling them will make them alot happier than making sure they have a hard shell? Feed what troll? Somebody give me a legitimate answer, Is My Turtle Going To Die If He Eats Whatever I Eat?

Id much rather eat Mcdonalds all day than be a Vegan...And I think Ertle and Myrtle feel the same way, their already fat, plus I cut the fishes tails off to make them easier to catch..and they refuse to eat any form of vegatable or leaf, so thats out of the question anyway.

emm, start feeding your fat turtles ONCE a day, turtles are cold-blooded and cant burn calories like us humans, they will almost always eat ravenously EVEN THOUGH THEY ARENT HUNGRY, so for the sake of your turtles feed them once a day.

and if I were you I would some reptomin (or other brand name)youll be surprised they'll like it better and they'll live like 10 years longer than if you continue feeding them this stuff

as far as "and they refuse to eat any form of vegatable or leaf, so thats out of the question anyway", start being the cruel loving mother and as hard as it is starve them until they have no choice but to eat the veggies, as its a very important part of their diet, by the all this is said, assuming that you want your turtles to live longer than a year

also your turtles should manage to eat the fish without you disabling them, give them time to hone their hunting skills!!!

the worst case and likely scenario would be similar to eating mcdonalds everyday, they'll be obese diseased and probably die a painful premature death
