Veggies are always good for them. It's better to have a 2/3 veggie diet then to have them every other day. If you can then you'll need pellets every other day and veggies regularly.

The rest of the turtles have been adopted to good homes. :)

Yeah Veggies is better for them then basically anything else you can give them. You can overfeed on ANY food no matter what it is im pretty sure. too much of anything is bad for a turtle just like it is for a Human.

What I do is take a small handfull or a few big pieces of collard Greens or Lettuce and just throw it in there but then again I have 5 Turtles so I throw a little more in there just to make sure they all get some veggies.

You can feed lettuce daily, you only need to regulate the amount of other veggies/fruits because they can be high in sugar.

You will know if you are overfeeding with lettuce because their poo will become runny or liquidy. At that point, definitely cut back. I would say start with a shell-sized piece of lettuce each day and increase it if you want to. I would probably not exceed 3x a shell-sized piece. My turtle generally gets slightly larger than a shell-sized piece of lettuce or sometimes one whole leaf (like one leaf of green-leaf lettuce). I don't give the whole leaf daily, since it's more than she usually gets, but she gets it occasionally as a treat. I've never had any poo issues.
