i bought this res a year ago and its size was less than 2 inches. i have 5 at that time (2 was dead). the other 2 grow excellently (almost 5 inches now). but this res (dylan) doesn't seem to grow as the size is still about 2 inches. dylan only wants to eat dried worm. a few weeks ago, dylan's eyes were swollen so i separated dylan from the other 2. i put dylan in a plastic box and put amoxycillin in its water for a few days. i also stop giving him dried worm and put pellets instead. but dylan refuses to eat. i keep trying for about a week, dylan's eyes are better but she still refuses to eat. i worried she might be dead because she was so weak. so i feed her instead by putting the pellet in it's mouth and force her to swallow (i know it's not recommended but i just don't know what to do). i keep doing that and in a few days she becomes stronger and back to normal. i've been doing that for about 10 days then i went out of town for a week and no one feeds her (like i did because nobody knows how to do it). my maid just give 1 pellet in her tank everyday but she just won't eat. then i come home and starts to feed her (with my way), at first it was difficult then tonight when i feed her it seems like she's ok with the way i feed her. is there any way to teach her to start eating on her own again?
ps. my way to feed dylan is very safe, she's not hurt, that's why i can't let any other people to feed her the way i do. and she seems to grow a bit since i start feeding her
in my town there's no vet so if there's any injury i just put antibiotics in the water and so far it works (one of my turtle lost it's tail because another turtle bit it, so i separated her (ashley) and put antibiotics in her water, she's fine, grows excellently and now she's the biggest)
please i really need some suggestions on how to make her eating on her own again.
thanks
herlina
