Feeding and Nutrition :: Ever find OTHER food in your Reptomin?

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

Post Posted: Sat May 02, 2009 10:40 pm   Ever find OTHER food in your Reptomin?

Like, non-Reptomin pellets?
First, I found this one:

Then I found a red, stick-like one that was similar in size to the Reptomin (which I didn't get a pic of).

And tonight I found this:

(A quarter and a regular Reptomin pellet for size reference)
I didn't give that one to Ralph, since it looks like it might possibly be a land turtle pellet?

I assume they're other products that Tetra makes, that somehow got into the Reptomin. Can anyone identify either?

Cool, hockey players on coins!

Aside from an oddly shaped pellet, I don't think I've seen any other food in there.

The first pic looks like a piece of cat food lol. I wouldn't be surprized if they use the same machines too package the different foods the factory makes.
I worked at mcd's when I was a teen and we offten found tator tots in the fries lol.

It's the same thing as buying a boxed food that says it's been processed in a plant that also processes peanuts, soy, etc. Things can get mixed in. I've never seen anything other than Reptomin in their containers, though.

Well, as long as it's all food, I've got no problems with it :P I buy the big boxes of food, so maybe there's a bigger chance of other food getting in the big boxes than the smaller bottles?

Maybe they should put a notice on the box "May contain traces of cat food."
