Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

I read the topic post "What to feed your turtle" and suggested that sweet potato are good nutrition for RES. What about potato? Is it okay to feed it to the RES? Any differences?

Regular potato is all starch and not as nutritious. It's basically empty calories. Sweet potatoes are full of vitamin A and other vitamins, white potatoes are not.

Sweet potatoes are better for people too! Believe it or not, even though they are called "sweet" they are a much better dietary choice than white potatoes, even for a diabetic like me!

My turt LOVES sweet potato! She ignores pellets and dives down to the bottom of her tank to get the sweet potato.

Potato does not have much for a turtle in it. Pretty much all starch.

+1 on sweet potatoes.
