Feeding and Nutrition :: cuttlebone question

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

I was at the pet store picking up some cuttlebone and I saw http://www.bizrate.com/birdsupplies/oid757211333.html really it would be more for me cuz I think it is cute and fun. So I ask, is the mineral part ok for the turtle? Think she would even eat it? Anybody tried it?

They don't mention what kind it is, so I'd skip it. Plain cuttlebone should be fine.

I know plain is fine but I want colorful and pretty and I can pretend he loves it and me even more because of it :p

I've just looked all over online and can't find anything that says what kind of minerals are in it. Darn :(

I have, however, seen flavored plain cuttlebone. You can try that instead.

:o oh where at?

I have no idea why this has excited me so much. It's not like she jumps out and hugs me as she thanks me uncontrollably.

Nevermind, that was a dumb question I just typed it into google and found some. Though *shock horror* the ones I see are $10 for 5 inches!!

I got it stuck in my head and just had to get one. I got her a 2 pack of vanilla and orange for $2. But it never occured to me, well, those things are also colored... and now she's got a home with orange water :p But not pretty orange. Just more of a dirty look. Guess somebody is getting a cleaning tomorrow!

hmm.. not so sure.. but turtle can be too picky .. once you have feed them with flavoured ones then its hard to turn back for the plain flavour.

yet the plain cuttlebone got some fish smell i think.. =P

What is your water like? Maybe my filter was faulty but I could not get the color out of the tank except for a 100% water change.
