Feeding and Nutrition :: Dandelion Flowers

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

I think I misread but, not sure. I just went outside and picked some dandelion flowers and rinsed them off and then into the pond they went. I know I read somewhere on here that dandelions are good for them but, I gave them the yellow yummy flower part. The koi even gobbled them up then the turtles went for them. I put maybe 8 dandelion flowers in there and they didnt even last a minute LOL They ate em so I'm figuring it ok??????

I don't know.. but for the turtles it's the dandelion leaves I believe you wanted. Not the flower. *laughs*

The flower is edible by humans, so I assume it's edible by turtles too. But yeah, the leaf I believe is more nutritious :)

whole foods market, Central market, any place that is mainly focused on veggies. I couldn't find either located in Oklahoman on the web for you, but just Google organic food stored in your area, with your zip code and you should find some.

What surprised me even more was that the koi gobbled most of em up before the turtles got to em. My biggest koi ate the thing whole!
