Frozen brine shrimp "gumdrops". And the recipe for food zoologist gave me. I have to trick them into eating carrots by shaving them into long wiggly strips (to look like worms or fish I guess) or them won't eat them. If I give them carrot chunks or something they bite a chunk off and spit it right back out. I think they just like to make things hard for me!!!

Interesting variety of foods...and hotdogs?! Which reminds me, I've been wondering: I'm vegetarian, so I never have any kind of cooked fish or chicken around to give my turtles as an occasional treat. Can turtles eat soy products, like unseasoned veg chick'n or plain tofu? Although I can't see how plain tofu would be very appetizing...just thought I would ask!

I got a surprise yesterday. We were finally able to get some lettuce only Romaine but still better than nothing and Snappy just gobbled it down like there was no tomorrow.

Hurley likes red leaf lettuce, dandelion leaves and dried Tubifix worm cubes!

He obviously loves his treats of berries and such, but the above are his faves.

I'm going to say no on the soy products, even if they are flavored as meats. However, many turtles like boiled egg whites, so you might have that around. Otherwise, unless you can stomach live prey or pet store snacks, your turtle will be just a little bit vegetarian!
