i know most of you guys feed your turts with reptomin pellets, but i could not find any in our place. i do feed them diferent types of pellets.

to people who know more about this, lemme know what you think. i do feed them more veggies than pellets (veggies on M-W-F-Sun), i just wanna know if these things are okay for them.

As part of the diet, the products don't look that bad. You would still want to provide additional calcium and, of course, variety with other foods.

I have no idea about paprika or what the parsley content is the Raffy Mineral. Parsley, however, is high in oxalic acid, which can interfere with calcium absorption if there's too much of it in the diet.

i do feed them cuttlebone. aren't they enough? they just had their first tuna last sunday... it was gone in 3 minutes.

thanks for the additional info on the oxalic acid. i'll keep that in mind.

the cuttlebone is very good. Marisa just wants you to be sure not to let your turtles have too much food containing oxalic acid, which would bind up the calcium they eat. so it would make a difference how much parsley is in the Raffy Vital pellets. If the pellets are mostly parsley or are a large percentage parsley, then you should probably skip them. If the pellets contain just a small percentage of parsley though, then they are fine.

i see. thanks for the additional info, spots mama. raffy vital actually includes a lot of veggies. i'll try cutting back on the raffy vital pellets from now on.

What I meant was (I think I can speak for myself :)), if the parsley content is high (if it's an ingredient that's listed toward the front of the list of ingredients, or in the first 3 or 4), it would be better to not give it on a regular basis. If it's listed toward the end of the list of ingredients, then there's most likely no problem with it. Just keep the diet varied. :D
