Feeding and Nutrition :: constant food

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

My RESs only eat some kind of turtle pellet and my Softies only eat Repto min sticks. The reason we don't change the Softies is that they won't go back to normal food. What are good stacks for all of my children? For the Softies preferably something non-adictive. lol. So...

Have you looked at the feeding info on the site? There is a list of what's good to give your RES. (You'd have to look up info on Softies to see what's particularly good for them.)

Be careful not to overfeed (easy to do if they keep getting snacks).

We have occasionally given them grapes (skinned for the softies.) Should they be cut or left whole? I feel sorry for their lack of variety.

I gave my RES a red grape this morning. I cut it into quarters and took out any seeds before giving it to him.

There are other foods to give. Look at the feeding section...

Thanks. Maybe today will be the first treat they have received in a year or so.

I looked at the feeding section and I saw carrots. How should I give them to them? Cooked so they are soft or washed right out of the bag?

I use a veggie peeler to make thin peels that move in the water like worms.

Also if you get your hands on some blueberries, they love those.
