hola, how long can i leave a leaf of lettuce inside the tank just floating around. about a day right? would 3 be too long? he's only about 3 inches now, and i just dont want to feed him pellets. and the lettuce is free if i get it from the fridge. thanks for all the help.

After a day in the warm tank water lettuce gets slimy and unappealing so it won't be eaten if you leave it in longer.
You should offer a variety of fresh vegetables everyday, not just lettuce. Also if you're thinking of iceberg lettuce, there is no nutritional value in there, so try for healthier options like romaine and leafy greens.
