Feeding and Nutrition :: Veggie Amounts?

Ok, my turtles are now 1.3 inches. How much lettuce should i be giving them? If I just put a whole bunch in the tank, would they over stuff themselves?
And, is 81 degrees to much for a turtle aquarium. I just got a thermometer today and put it in, temp said 81! so I turned the heater down a bit. Can 81 degrees hurt a turtle?

81 degrees won't hurt a little turtle but it will speed up his metabolism more than it needs to be and it will make him shed skin like crazy. The lower temp will be better for them and their skin.

On the lettuce, why don't you put one fresh leaf in every day. If the turtles don't eat it all, try putting in a half a leaf. If the turtle eat the whole leaf in one day, try putting in two.

If the turtles start having diarrhea, then you should cut back on the lettuce.
