Feeding and Nutrition :: Blood worms?

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

My friend feeds his res blood worms every so often and they love 'em.
I didn't see blood worms noted on the website so I was wondering if
they're safe and/or nutritional for res?

yes, they are safe. Only feed them to your turts like once a month though.

Usually they are ok. But watch out, bloodoworms sometimes can get contaminated. My friend's newt died because the bloodworms he fed him were contaminated.

Roca gets them likes one a week. It's a good foraging exericse for him since he drift everywhere around the tank. Whatever he doesn't eat first gets eaten by he fish! :D

They're kind of like candy to turtles, and have little nutrition. Hatchlings especially seem to like them. I've gotten the frozen ones that supposedly have been purified and have added nutrients.
