if your turtles head was hollow (not including the neck) you should feed the amount of pellets that would fit inside that hollow head.
you should be feeding them other things as well, pellets alone is not a good diet for a res.
you need to introduce your turtle to greens, such as green leaf lettuce, red leaf lettuce, romaine, collard greens, kale etc.
you could also feed shredded carrots, small pieces of fruit (occasionally).
make sure your res is getting proper calcium in the diet also, you do this by using cuttlebone, or calcium powder dusting the pellets (i think once or twice a week).
you shouldnt give your res all the food i mentioned above each day. you should be giving your turtle a variety of food.
its like when you eat dinner, do you eat chicken every night, or burgers every night or pasta etc.. no you eat chicken one night,burger one night, pasta one night. your turtle eats like that. except pellets everyday and then different type of lettuce each day etc.
