my "hatchling" is now around 2-2.5 inches. so instead of feeding him daily, should i feed him once every other day? and the same amount (amount that fits into his hollow head)?

They become an adult at 1 year, about 4 inches. Feed him once a day for now.

They are adults once they sexually mature. Just because a turtle is 4 inches doesnt make it an adult. A 4 inch turtle should be fed every other day, or 2 times a week. For a turtle under 4 inches, you can feed everyday, once a day, only as much as would fit inside it's head if it were hollow.

A turtle is considered a hatchling until the turtle is one year old, then the turtle is considered to be a juvenile.

Thanks, Marisa. I've had the hatchlings for 10 months....by Sept 30, 2007, they'll be juveniles! Just what I need! I am so proud of what I accomplished with them so far. This website has been a tremendous help.
