They're fine as a rare treat. Mine love both!

Wait...I didn't see the word 'peel' the first time. I'd say no to the watermelon rind, yes to the cherries

Did he like it? Some turtles are attracted to red foods. Mine's pretty indifferent.

Kokoro likes the red food. I can take anything red or yellow and get it close to her tank and she will try to eat it right a way

Serra is attracted to bright green things! Especially the little green flow adjuster on one of my filters!

Napoleon knows the Reptomin container, he freaks out when I pick it up, and doesn't even notice the pellets in the water until after I leave the room. I've got to go grocery shopping tomorrow and pick up some new treats for him, he's been eating mostly lettuce and carrots lately, he's due for some fun new veggies!

yes, he really enjoyed the cherry, until I went over so I could watch him eating more closely.
then he stopped eating and ran away
although he did pick at it after I left again. but he didn't really eat it anymore, so I just fished it out of the water and threw it out

at least he is eating a lot now!

You can give him a bit of the watermelon rind if there's some of the fruit on it. Because the rind is hard, he might not be that interested in it, though. None of my turtles likes watermelon. But they do like their slivers of cherries. :)
