Ponds and other outdoor enclosures.

For those whose turtles live in a pond when it's warm but come inside to a tank when it's cold - what temperature triggers the switch to indoors for you?

My turtle is outside right now and it's going to go down into the 60's tonight. I can't sleep because I feel like he should be inside but his inside tank isn't completely ready for him yet - no filter and no heaters.

Which would be worse - for him to stay outside when the temperature dips into the 60's, or bring him inside to a tank that isn't clean? I remind myself that in the wild they live in 60 degree ponds all the time, but I don't know.......

Well, I feel somewhat like an idiot! The old timers must have thought that question of mine was a hoot!

I did what I should have done from the start and searched the forum for info on the topic and found lots and lots of it. I know now that Spotty will be just fine in his pond when the night time temp outside goes into the 60's.

What a relief! I think I'll go to bed now!
