Basking....in the RAIN!

It's pouring here - really coming down. I just went out to check on the pond and saw Mercer up on his floating corkbark log in the full superman pose. Huh? There's NO sun at all, but he had his back feet out & head up, eyes closed and was fully enjoying his shower. I'm raising a weirdo.

How cool!
A few years ago when I first started putting Spot outside, he was out during a summer thundershower. He got up on his basking rock and raised his head high as the raindrops crashed around him. It was quite a sight. I think he enjoyed it.

the 3 turtles i raise in central america do it too. it rains now and then scattered showers id say. so i would see then just felling the rain pouring on them as they just bask right there just enjoying it like ducks would. thats pretty awesome really
