Ponds and other outdoor enclosures.

I'd be nervous with anything under about 5" being around a cat.

With Spot, who's about 7", I worry about the cat. Usually he's an indoor cat but from time to time he goes out with us in the back yard. The other day I saw Willy the cat lapping water out of the pond. As his little pink tongue lapped up and down, Spot took notice began his approach, with blood in his eye. I snatched Willy away just in time!

Good night! How do you protect them? It sounds like an outdoor slider is going to be eaten or mauled! Are there good ways to ensure this won't happen?

You can go ahead and fence the pond in really good and add an overhead barrier. Chicken wire is pretty cheap and resistent enough against predators. I find it starts to rust after a while, but I'm speaking years.
