How much of the swimming space is the new basking are taking? I think that is how I was judge cramped. I think over all that it looks great. Aesthetically it doesn't look bad.

Thanks... I ended up pulling the new basking area out of the pond. I am looking for more floating objects.

Hey reptilegrrl ... You might be careful of just how close you get things to the sides of the pond ... your filter, plants etc. They make excellent braces for our friends to wedge themselves between and sometimes get over the top with ease.
I keep my filter, palm and basking area all in the middle of my pond as I have had successful escapes in the past and had to learn the hard way... fric

Thanks for the tip. The filter is about 7 inches from the side of the tank... basically the length of my hand, that's how I measured it. I removed the second basking area and will be replacing it with a floating lily pad basking thing. He still has his turtle dock in the water, too.

The pond is full of plants now and looks a bit different- I will have to take some more pictures soon.

Thanks! It is a 150 gallon rubbermaid stock tank, with about 130 gallons of water in it. I keep it full to about 5 inches below the rim.
