I have a 1,000+ gallon turtle pond in my back yard, (Think of an old Jacuzzi converted into a pond) I have a RES, fish and crawfish living in it now. someone just gave me another RES that needed a home. it is an indoor turtle, Do I need acclimate it to the outdoor pond to live. the pond is located in Southern, CA. the water temp outside is 52 degrees right now

I also live in Southern, CA and I just took in a 2 1/2 inch RES that my niece could no longer take care of. It was living in a small 10-20 gallon aquarium, and I put it outside in my 125 G pond with my other turtle. It seemed to have had no problem adjusting. I frequently see it basking.

Not to long ago. Sometime during the end of March. It was a nice day when I put the turtle in though, but lately we have had cloudy cool days, but not to bad.
