Habitat - Outdoor :: TURTLE EMERGENCY

Ponds and other outdoor enclosures.

Post Posted: Mon Oct 13, 2008 7:30 pm   TURTLE EMERGENCY

i have a red slider turtle in our pond outside, we've had it for 3 years and came home today to see it swollen about 2 times its normal size. It's shedding white stuff and its shell is really slimmy. It looks like its about to die, no vet here is open that knows anything about turtles (and i've called several out of the area), if anyone can recommend anything so that it doesnt die overnight i'd greatly appreciate it!

Hi, can you provide more information? http://www.redearslider.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2142

Where are you located? Here are some more resources for locating a vet: http://www.redearslider.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=370

Did you bring him inside? If he's having trouble swimming, you might dry dock him overnight in a safe, quiet warm box so he doesn't drown.
