Is it ok to put some type of gravel or another type of cover on the bottom of the tank so that you don't have to just look at a bare tank, or can things like that hurt the turt? Thanks

Your best bet is creek stones. Most people believe that turtles will eat the gravel and become impacted, leading to digestive problems. So you can go to Home Depot or Lowes and get a bag for cheap, you just need to wash them really well. Some people also bake and/or boil them to get rid of any germs that might be on them.

I was thinking of using that aquarium wallpaper for the bottom of mine. Just haven't gotten around to buying it yet.

y'know how you see fish tanks in the stores that have that paper on the back that has plants/water and stuff on it? I can't describe it much better than that. It sticks on the outside of the tank and the picture shows on the inside. I guess it's supposed to give the fish something to look at.
