Is the pond for indoors? If so you'll have to support those elevated corners somehow... You'll also have to do some major engineering as far as basking ramps and lighting. I have heard great things about those filters. They are highly rated, and difficult to get in the states right now. As for heaters, I've always used Tronic, with the optional plastic guards.
Ebo-Jager, and Stealth heaters are others worth a look.

Just a quick note on the net, Turts are escape artists, and he may get hung up in that, I'd go with something metal, perhaps fine chicken wire....

He also got his head stuck in the basking lamp while it was on while he was trying
to escape and climb out of the tank.

As for covering the pond will strong single strand nylon netting work. I going
to double like the other one for extra safty.

As for the pond support i will be making supports using wood.

Well, you've chosen a rather unique set-up, thats for sure! Methinks your in for alot of trial and error. Perhaps you could use lexan (custom cut and braced, or solidly attached, of course) to cover all but the basking/UVB area and then use a screen of some sort for the rest? I don't know how cold the winters get across the pond but a clear, solid cover would hold some of the warm air and humidity in for Terry, and keep him from getting out.

Not to sure what Lexan is but sounds like acrylic. lol

I would love to pond out side in garden but thats out of the question becasue
the parents won't allow me.

Terry was given to us by a cusin who could not take care of him.

Back then he was very small and i never had any support and information
on how to keep terapin's but now thats all changed.

The area i live in does get cold in the winters with rare snow showers. lol

It looks like i might go for the strong single strand nylon netting and double it.
I will strap it down very tight over the pond. This should keep him from getting
out.

Is it ok to spray paint the nylon netting black - As i want to match it with the
pond colour.
