Anyone out there using a Sunsun brand ? I'm looking into a Sunsun HB-303b for a 20 gallon , that should be good shouldn't it ? Just wanting to hear opinions on them first !

Aquatop aka SunSun .

For the price surprisingly well made but tend to have weak motors. I would get the largest you can afford if you go with it. Also in search box above type sunsun there's more about them on this forum.

Don't let the 9w sterilizer be reason for final choice , it's the smallest and is a mismatch for the filter.

Would I really have to worry about the uv sterilizer tho ? Everything else I've read about them says its not necessary

I'm old and not up to date on all these new acronym's (tho) ?

For a turtle I say you don't need a sterilizer that's if you do good water changes and have good filter media along with a scheduled maintenance plan. Once in a while some get algae blooms ( cloudy water ) when changing water then it will help. But really that goes away on it's own in a day or two. On that link I gave you shows proper sizing of uv's and the one on that filter is more for just marketing . Some see that and think it must be great but it's not a good match for that filters flow. Save a little money and get same filter without a uv light. The uv bulbs don't last a long time , so you can get this one and never replace the bulb. OH , uv bulbs still produce light even after sterilizer action stops. Just like a UVB bulbs stops producing the UB but still gives off light. UV sterilizers are more for people with very rare fish. Turtles are very hardy and a good maintenance program is the best. I do agree it's not necessary as long as good scheduled maintenance is done.

Heard some say water looks clean I'll skip maintenance this week , that's bad ! One can have crystal clear water and it could be toxic. Never skip on maintenance it's to prevent problems . After decades in this hobby you will be able to see a problem come about before it happens. Yes that day will come with time.

Sunsuns are generally copies of Fluvals. There have been reports of them leaking, so I would be extra careful. Do you already have the 20 gallon?

There's the 304b listed here for cheaper than the one on eBay. Look at the reviews on it.

Love my SunSun! I have this exact model and it's been working great going on 6 months now.
