Hey guys. I have been to many pet stores in my area and none sell turtle docks!!! Does anyone know some ideas of what o can use that looks decent like a diy project or can anyone send pics of what your dIY project looks like.

Depending on the size of your turtle, I find that commercial docks are usually not adequate. I'm not particularly handy, so I used PVC piping and a drying rack to make a base for some tile I picked up a Home Depot.

As litefoot said, take a look around the forum or google image search for some ideas. As long as it is turtle safe, you can use just about anything.

Very true on most commercial dock. When some see the cost.... I have seen people say I'll get the medium size due to cost and tell themselves it will work for an adult RES , guess what "will not". Then say the dock is no good . They make an x-large floating one 12"x24" that will hold an adult good. I had two , when my Minnie was 12" female RES I used pegs and put two together just to give her more room to turn around on but one did hold her up well. Problem was the cost over $50 each !!! That was before my DIY days and retirement !
The PVC piping is good and works well for around $10-$15 or less and you always can tweak it some for looks down the road. This is where I like Rubbermaid stock tanks better more tweaking can be done due to the size ! My 150 gal is 3' x 5' allows plenty of ideas to come true. Today I like natural cork... who knows what I'll like tomorrow.

How big is the tank and turtle? I use a PVC/tile in one tank... it will last forever and is stronger than necessary. Cheapest option too, though not the prettiest.
