Even when I add duck weed, it'll only last a few days. i did mention that I was thinking of adding a "partition" for some plants..

Ijapa, thanks for the pictures, i meant to ask on my last post. Sorry, i didn't mean to make you nervous. I'm pretty sure that the hole will do the trick. I've seen that technique on a couple of you tube videos.
Is the CPR necessary, is that what controls the flow rate?

NYstyle,
I tried all types of plants with the same result as you. Franklin would destroy everything I put in his tank. Duckweed was also introduced into the tank multiple times....he ate every bit of it. Finally I just gave up on having any plants. Somehow I stumbled on Water Hyacinths. They reproduce extremely fast and are a natural parts of RES diet. I'll include some photos, let me know what you think of them. If you click on each photo they will expand.

How many did you add in there initially? It seems that they have taken off..

I think that I initially had purchased about ten plants. They came from a nursery in PA that was a registered organic supplier. Originally I was concerned that I might not have enough light or the correct conditions for growth, but as you pointed out they took off. Franklin loves them. He eats them, hides in them and hunts in them. Until I got these plants his tank was barren and probably not very realistic for him. I now feel that he has a place to live that is more natural, not just some glass, rocks and driftwood.
