Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

I found a weird bug in my turtle tank today. Can't post a picture but it appears to be something like a triobyte. Its about 3/8" diameter, slightly spikey edges, little black eyes and 6 legs. It's dead. But not sure how it got in there, where it came from, and if it is dangerous to my turtles.

I realize the description is vague but is this jogging any thoughts for people?? I just don't know if it s a parasite that I should be concerned with.

Note - we do also have an issue with nemotoads (sp?) so perhaps its related to that??

thanks for any help!

Sounds like some sort of beetle. I doubt it's a parasite just keep in mind that nearly all bugs are drawn to water, so it's not unusual. Also check where you put dirty nets, food, etc around the tank. I think some people also find dead bugs in their turtle's food containers.
