Very interesting on your observations prior to her laying these eggs , your attempts on providing her a location prior to laying the eggs, the hybrid activity observed on your males chasing her as well as how the eggs looked even after being in the water. It is a shame on the loss of the eggs but it will occur again soon enough. Hopefully it will not end up like this on the next clutch so that you can see the little ones pop out. Being that I am looking forward to producing albinos, lubinos aka leucistic red ears and hybinos, possibly other genetic morphs, from individuals like what you experienced will help me determine which way to go. I know the breeding of snakes and lizards like the back of my hand but turtle breeding is a all new ball game sort of speak so knowledge prior and experiencing with other species is essential prior to my little guys getting mature. I thank you highly and I am happy that she is okay.
