I pretty much already know the answer to this, but my long time friend and long time freshwater aquarist is moving to a marine tank/salt water. I am in the process up upgrading to a larger tank and he is basically giving me most of his setup. Long story short, I want his sand. He has lots of it. Only problem, he has Malaysian Trumpet Snails for his cleanup crew that obviously live in this sand. Talk to me about a slider eating Malaysian Trumpet Snails. End of the world scenario, or?

It mostly depends on the size of the snails and size of the turtles. MTS do have a harder shell than some other snails, so you do need to be careful.

I have MTS in my refugium. There is no way a RES can crush their shell.
I know one small one made it to the main tank, because I saw my turtle pass a shell, completely intact. I can't imagine a larger on making it through the digestive system without causing serious issues.
